September 18, 2012

Trent is doing well.  He has been out now for 6 months!!  Hard to believe.  He is positive and working hard.  I always ask him what is something interesting he has eaten.  This week he had the opportunity to eat chicken feet!!  Yes, chicken feet!!  He ate three of them because that is what was put on his plate!!  (so polite).  He said the worst part was the toes!!  Look for some pictures coming soon!!

New Address

Elder Carnahan is now in his first area.  He is in a town called Cachoeirinha.  His companion is from Brazil and Trent says he speaks pretty good English.  Trent says there are dogs everywhere.  In today's email he told me that they were chased by a pack of dogs.  He said he's never run so fast to get away from them!! The biggest meal of the day is at noon.  The kids come home from school for a couple of hours and then go back.  They walk everywhere and there are lots of hills.  He told me that he has lost 15 pounds!!  Trent's mail gets sent to the mission home.
Here's his address:

Update!

Elder Trent Carnahan has now been in Brazil for 5 weeks!!  How times flies!!  He has about a week and a half left in the MTC.  He is doing great and working hard.  He has written that he has never worked so hard in his life!!

He loves Wednesday because that is P-Day.  Here's what he has to say about that:  "So Wednesday is my "P-Day".  We wake up at 5:30 am to get ready for the temple.  We leave the MTC at 6:30.  The temple is only around 15 miles away, but the traffic is so bad we get to the temple around 7:30 and the session starts at 8:00 for the missionaries.  Oh my goodness the traffic here is so bad.  The best way for me to explain it is it is Boston and New York traffic times ten.  It's terrible!! The buses rule the road here.  They just pull out and all of the cars just stop.  The motorcycles are insane!!  When there is traffic they just lay on their horns and go in between the cars."

Here are some pictures of the city from his view!!
